An Introduction to Modern Hinduism
In this course we will explore the ways in which modern teachers such as Vivekananda, Dayananda Saraswati and Swaminarayan made use of traditional Hindu ideas in order to present interpretations of the religion that addressed the concerns of the modern world.
We will also consider the ways in which Hinduism contributes to debates on contemporary issues and the forms of Hindu dharma that have a specific relevance for the modern world.
The standard fee charge is £70 per course.
In order to ensure that no one is discouraged from enrolling on the basis of cost we offer a concessionary rate of £35 per course to young persons of 18 or under, to full time students, to pensioners, to those on income support and to anyone who is unemployed.
